Blog 5: A favorite photo

Hi, everybody! I hope you are very well and healthy! Today I’m going to share with you one photo that I really like.

This photo was took in 2013 in  the Carnaval of Mil Tambores that exists in Valparaíso, Chile. I like this photo because it’s really spontaneus and reminds me a very happy timeof my life. That Carnaval is the final activity  of the weekend  of Mil Tambores. The rest of the days, there’s a lots of  shows and  workshops around the city. But is the Carnaval of the sudays the best part. This last all day. It  shows all the Samba schools, drums and batucadas from the country and even batucadas from other coutries.
This Carnaval it use to start from the beach San Mateo, rounding all the coast ,  finishing in the field Alejo Barrios. But year after year, the autorithies have  reduce the route and the last year they move this amazing Carnaval to the hill Playa Ancha, very hide and far from the center.
My friends and I went to this Carnaval since  2012, especially for the Cuerpos Pintados. We like it beacause we feel free and you can know lots of people who paint or enjoy the art of body paintings or the drums rhythm. And because there’s a really fun atmosphere!
I choose this picture because we didn't knowed who took it, but we know that this picture existist because a newspaper from the V region: "Publimetro".

I also choose this photo because brings us (to my friendas and I a funny story: As you know, I went to a religious high school. And oneday, afterMil Tambores, our head teacher call us ( me and my friends who participated in the Carnaval) to talk outside the classroom.😲What happened was that my school saw that newspaper and also saw in TV my friend of the photo in an interview from the news talking in the Carnaval and how it was a very good experience to participate. The thing is that they “discovered" that we all participated to the  Carnaval with “Little clothes”. I remember that my teacher was really angry and she can’t understand why we did that, even with our parent permission. So she scold us and tell us that what we did it wasn’t apropiate and it wasn't a behavior of our school, so as a penalty we can't  be standards of our highschool  when we were in senior year. My friends and I were very shock for the situation, we weren’t bad students. Some of us wanted to be standard for the next year, but now I thinking about it and I’m glad that I wasn’t haha. Now I think it’s a funny story and I’m super relieve that that time  we did what makes us happy.

I really hope you can go to Carnaval Mil Tambores someday. 💚💛💙💗
