Blog #6 English Language Challenge

 

Hello! How have you been? Today I’m going to talk about my experience learning English at the Universidad de Chile.

Since I started learning English until now, I’m  really surprised because at the school, the English subject was always  very basic and I used to think that I knew a lot about this language. But, at  the university, thanks to the English courses I have felt completely challenged and I have improved a lot in the speaking skill.

I think that the blogs and comments in classes made me enjoy this subject a lot, because I was able to get to know my classmates better and also to express very deep ideas that I didn’t know how to explain before.

The aspect that I have to improve is the use of verb tenses and I would like to increase my vocabulary too. For that, I would like to read some stories or books in English. Also, I would like to translate the lyrics of differents songs. I really enjoy these activities  because they keep me motivated.

In my daily life, I have used a lot of English for physical exercise. One day,  I discovered myself watching and doing different videos in English without noticing that the trainers were not speaking Spanish haha. So that was great because I realized that I could perfectly understand their speech. Also, the English language helps me to study when I’m looking for some information, because it allows me to comprehend many things I didn't get before.

I would definitely like to continue learning more about this language,because it is a very useful tool especially in the working environment. In fact, I would love to travel and study in another country.

In summary, learning English at university has been a very enriching experience, as it has made me learn more than all the English I had at school. haha Sad but true, and at the same time Great!
